It finally happened to me, Jack Bucchioni, I'm not thrilled with Google for selling out! Net Neutrality and the recent actions by Google and Verizon with the World Wide Web have now affected my choices when using Google and Verizon.
A brief background on these two companies, now holding much of our "private information", who are attempting to play the “Internet Gatekeeper God” by joining forces:
The FCC is now investigating via hearings. “The hearing also comes on the heels of Google and Verizon's proposal to limit the FCC's oversight in this area—essentially putting it in the hands of some kind of industry governance body that would tell the agency when to ding an ISP for discriminating against a content provider (limited to $2 million per ding)”.
“Nondiscrimination principles, as this body chose to define them, would apply to wireline broadband, but not wireless, with exemptions for "additional" or "differentiated" services that could be subject to "traffic prioritization."
My small but satisfying actions today were a direct result of hearing this. Some of my personal behavioral changes even surprised me:
*I deleted the Google search engine pages and converted to Bing.
*I deleted my Google Chrome Browser and now us exclusively Firefox.
*I no longer use my Google “Adwords” advertising account.
*I switched my placement SEO mechanisms from Google over to other search engines.
*I’m searching and trying to unwind my Internet footprint from “anything Google” albeit a difficult task from years of “trusted” allegiance……………………Breaking up is hard to do!
